Having grown up in an artistic household, my parents exposed me to different forms of artistic expression. I experienced art, music, theatre, photography, movies, and dance. These experiences provided me with the foundation to find my own artistic voice as a photographer. I learned the beautiful art of bodily expression through theatre and dance, and that music plays an invaluable part in the emotional expression we feel when viewing the human form in motion and presentation.
I have a BA degree in Media Studies with an emphasis in video editing and photography. For the last several years, I have worked as a Portfolio and Head Shot photographer for the Theatre, but the theatrical script dictates the story, and usually the visuals. Photographing Theatre keeps me close to my artistic roots, but there is much to be discovered, and shared.
With an intense passion for storytelling, I feel it a benefit that goes hand in hand with my love of photography and videography. To tell a story in visual form, whether through still or moving images, evoking emotion, understanding, and discovery is an amazing gift to share with the viewer.
Nature, the artist of the world, never ceases to present stunning beauty that begs to be photographed. I discovered, through my love of nature and its beauty, exquisite details that afford the art of photography unbelievable opportunities.
Therefore, I go out into the world, find those spontaneous moments that create beauty through the camera lens, and hopefully tell a story…it makes me happy and it’s incredibly satisfying
